In ancient Egypt, this stone was powdered and worn around the eyes; this was believed to improve eyesight. Since that time it has been believed that this stone wards off evil, and brings strength and courage. It is also associated with intellect, truth and royalty, and connection to the self. Ancient Sumerians believed their gods lived in these stones.
 
Mangano Calcite:
A stone for healing the heart, it brings forgiveness, love and kindness. It also relieves stress and tension, and is an excellent stone for meditation. If you are in the process, or would like to begin the process, of healing from trauma, this stone would be a good companion.
